Video prod.watching the latest films
I was really courious what the others made for this wine-topic, and I have to say that although I didn't really like them, I think all in all it was an okay lesson. I didn't like the soundtrack in our film, but at the end we couldn't change it, and we only realized that it's a bit too much with the sound when we were ready with all the editing, and then suddenly it just wasn't working out that good with the sound+film . I liked Ralph + Évi +Adél+Anna's version as well, it was minimalistic, but I think it was really funny. The other's films didn't catch me so much, I didn't like them that much, and I don't want to talk about it now as I don't want to hurt the other's feelings.
lesson with the catalogues
the other lesson , when we dealt with catalogues:I found it interesting as well , because we need to know what we sould put into it, and how it should look, etc, so that part was really useful, however I think we were dealing with it for a bit too long, as at the end of the class I felt like that we were just discussing the same things over and over again...I am really looking forvard to visit the galleries , etc, as I know that we'll hear very useful things, and Im happy that Rita is giving us really practical advices about the whole topic. It's so much better than to just learn about things in theory!
My concept for an exhibition
As Im very much interested in shoes, and I saw not so long ago on the Spektrum or on the National Geographic a documentation about shoes , there was a big Shoe-museum in Toronto, and I tought that I could invite an exhibition from them here.
In the museum they have more than 12500 shoes from every kind of eras and times. They are also dealing with conservig and restoring the shoes so they have some real specialities !
I tought that I could put up an exhibition in the Fine Arts museum, where there would be a thematic exhib. with shoes from diff. kind of historical times . Then there would be an other room where diff. modern designs would be presented -eg.: shoes from grass, etc. - . There could be an exhbibition in an other room where the museum could collaborate and ask some hungarian shoe-makers to make something special for a topic, and we could exhibit those. There could be a rooom where people could try on some shoes from historical times ( of course not real-ones, but newly made ones ) I think it it would entertain the audience if it would be interactive. PLus during the exhibition there could be tours were historians or other people could involve a bit the history with the shoes and make an interesting tour for the audience.

Visiting the flat-galleries
As I had to leave after the second gallery I will only comment on the Molnár Ani and the Inda galleries. I liked the Molnár Ani better, maybe because the atmoshphere was nicer there, or the girl who led us around was nicer than in the Inda, but I just found that more 'homie'. The flat was smaller but it was bright and nice, and the art pieces were really cool ,especially those magnet-ones! The Inda gallery was too dark for me, I don't know why they didn't open the windows or so...On the other hand they have a much bigger space for exhibiting the pictures so it should be better as a gallery, but somehow I still didn't like it so much...I didn't even like the artworks neither . The owner seemed really busy and she was only doing a favour to show us around, that wasn't sympathethic for me.
Both galleries had the problem that there weren't any plackards or tableaous on the the street indicating the directions...I think it's a big problem because If Rita wouldn't have been there with us, I wouldn't have been able to find the galleries :)
All in all the trip was very interesting as I have never been in a flat-gallery before, I couldn't even imagine what it is....Now at least I have a clue !:)

cutting the chicken movie with elinor
well yes, basically we had to see all the diff. videos which we had, then we choose the best ones which could be in the film. Afterwards we made diff. folders like : beggining, end, middle , etc...and put the diff. video-files into the folders. Then we started cutting and of course with the diff. folders it was easier. Then the comp. broke down, and we had to start it all over again. So elinor went to an other computer, she cut the second part of the video and I cut the first part of it and then we put it together.... It took us 4-5hours to cut the video at the beggining before the comp. broke down and it took an other 2 hours to cut when we split up after restarting the computer. It was really tireing!
2 times when I was missing
sorry I just wanted to say that I was basically missing two lessons, one because of my cheek - when it broke and I had to go to the hospital, and once when we were in Stockholm with Ralph. - By the way Stockholm is a really really cool city! :)
editing with bob
Well the last film which we made about the wine-thing : we went over to bob's place and edited with him. Some of us were doing the Photoshop things which we had to do- to cut out some parts, so that we can edit it together with a technic which looks like as the parts were falling apart in the movie. It's really cool and actually easy to make - if you know how to handle photoshop. The others were discussing and helping with the cutting , dealing with the order of the scenes, and how long they should last, etc. We finished the cutting during a weekend, it took basically 2 whole days...
Visiting the Mi Vida
It was one of the best exhibitions which I saw so far, and interestingly not because the pieces were sooo good -because they weren't- but because the whole exhib. itself was cool. There were only a few pieces which I really liked e.g: the blood-giving staion, and the long photos of a beach was my favourite ! - but the whole idea was really good. Although I think the Undertitel : from heaven to hell - or smg like that - was not good in my opinion, I didn't notice that the works were at all connected to his title, so that was definitely wrong about the exhib. Ah yes and I didn't like the Abramovich videoinstallation neither. Just because she made such outrageous videos I wouldn't consider them Art pieces . Not at all!
making the new music -video
Filming with the others made the whole thing much much easier. After discussing and deciding the story ( which was interesting because I could really learn this time that even if I don't agree with the idea , I have to make it as the other's "vote" for it , and 3 against 2 decided which topic we are going to choose. ) . After it we scheduled the filming, I was basically responsible for all the costumes, and other things which we used during the film . The others got diff. roles. Then when we started shooting I basically after a while became the person who was responsible for the lightning with this big , round silver thing which we borrowed from Évi. I really liked doing the lightning ! Although I felt sorry for Pavel - our main actor- because I always had to put the light into his face ! poor him, but C'est la vie...it's hard to be an actor...:)
The filming was cool , we didnt have discussions only in 1-2 cases but we could solve the problems easy, so I think so far it was one of the easiest filming...Everybody was helpful and I think we could really work together! we were : Damla, Elinor, Natela, Bob and Me.

museum visit-applied arts museum
I didn't really like the exhibition, although I find the museum really beautiful and nice...the exhibition was a bit a "mess" , no descriptions about the materials- I think that was the biggest fault ! + the rest with the weird numbering of the works, etc.
I found the computer games quite hard actually...
THe last one which we saw about Mucha was way better , although there as well the descriptions were missing, but I found the exhibition itself much more interesting. And it was good that they had that "contemporary " exhibition with the collaboration of the KREA school...I think it was a nice exhib. and an interesting idea to make so that the audience can check the "contemporary touch" of Mucha on the young artists...

Yeah we have two new cameras...I donno whether we'll use them as so far we don't have any scenes inside - and as I know it they can only be used inside...so :( but still next year the baambies will be happy for them.
I found the "how to use the settings "in the camera part a bit boring and unnecesseary as actually so far everybody knows the things in it...coz we did check the cameras at the first lesson as well when we got them, so after that everyone shot at least 3 films we know how to handle them. Plus we also had a lesson about the lightning so I didn't really see the point in it...
The job-fair was a big ha-ha , still no jobs for arts managers at all , but Im not surprised as we already got used to it, that beside us and our teachers - the rest of the people in the school doesn't give a s*it about our programme...Im sad coz it could be really cool. I wouldn't be surprised if many people would leave the class+school before finishing it...It's just soo much money for no quality- unfortunately.

Video Prod,2009 april.14
Today we were talking about irony and humor in films/videoclips. I really liked this lesson as anyway Im interested in these type of films, and videos... I think of humor as an intellectual way of expressing oneselves or giving an opininon about a theme. So anyway to understand humor needs IQ so if someone makes a film/video with humor and the audience understands it ,it's just a great feeling!
Im happy for the new task , it's clear what we have to do , and it feels like as it's a 'real work experience ' just in small... :) Will be for sure cool to go to the countryside and shoot there and about wine, Im sure it'll be fantastic! Im really looking forvard to it! Im just sad we didn't get that Canon Camera ... :D

Arctic Hysteria
I loved it! It was a great exhibition, i loved the peaces, the curator could speak good english, it was interesting, although I would have wanted to hear more about the practical side of it, what kind of problems arised during the exhibition, etc, and I even wanted to ask these, but to be honest I was too busy with watching the pieces that I forgot my questions.
The budget with 22 million sounded really expensive but when I heard that they needed to put up new walls, etc, and the accomodation, and the travelling of the artists, I belive it's a normal budget for an exhibition like this.
She seemed really young for me, and I was courious how could she get 'this far ' as she was curating an expensive exhibition , etc, but I was afraid of asking this .... :(
So all in all the weather was beautiful, the Exhibition was great, and this time we didn't get tired, I enjoyed it a lot, and Im happy that we'll see the Mucha exhibition next time! Im looking forvard to it !

Exhibition class last friday
We had to discuss with each other what kind of exhibition we are going to make hipothetically, and It was interesting but I felt like we had too much time for it, as we discussed in like 5 minutes and in the rest 15-20 minutes we were just talking with each other. I know that the classes are actually too long, and already at least like an hour before the class finishes everybody is already deadly tired, and anyway it's friday, etc. It was really a bad idea to have classes on friday, as we can not pay attention because we are so tired.
Anway the exhibitions are going to be interesting, I think everyone had great ideas !It's a good lesson to do this hipothetically , because it won't matter that much from a real one. Of cours the problems which may arise in reality won't be there, but still I think it's a good excercise !

Video
Okay, so as you all know it , I fell on the first day of shooting as a dustbin, and so we had to stop the shooting for 1 day, so that I get better, and go to doctors, etc etc. And unfortunately after it I couldn't get into the costume - somehow I wasn't comfortable with getting into it, God knows why...:) - and Elinor took my part, and I played Myself + I also handeled the camera when I wasn't in the shots. We shoot basically the film during one afternoon at the playground, on a sunny afternoon, it was really funny and easy as before we sat down for a few hours and discussed ( + we wrote it down as well and it helped a lot )what to shoot after what, and anyway what scenes we need, so it went easy...
Unfortunately I had to go to Stockholm for the weekend so I couldn't really help Elinor with the cutting we were only cutting together on thursday afternoon...where we selected the files we needed, and discussed how it's gonna be with editing .
I love the video, I think it's really good, and fits the music, so Im very very satisfied with it!
I also like the other's films, I think we all did a great job, I was surprised about the good result, to be honest I wasn't expecting for that many good videos !

Visiting the galleries on tuesday
It was a great lesson again, I learned a lots of things, I didn't know that you/we have to use gloves, and the diff. hangers, how to measure the spaces between pictures, and labels, etc. and of course the artists who were exhibited - I didn't know many of them so it was new for me! I didn't really like the second gallery the 'octogonart' , the space is more narrow than the bigger Várfok...even the smaller Várfok is better than the Octogonart... I liked the last two ( which are opposite each-other ) but they are so much bigger than the others so it wouldn't be fair to compare them. FRom now on I will defenetely have a different eye on the art pieces and the gallery itself when I'll go to an exhibition ! So I hope Im on a good way to look at things not just a viewer but somebody 'professional' ! :)
Visiting the Néprajzi museum
I think it was a really good idea to visit the museum and check the two exhibitions there.
My part was to check the permanent ex. and write down what I like , what I don't like, etc.
Well the exhibition was very useful as a bad example for setting up or keeping updated an exhib. We could phisically feel the dust of the exhibited objects...:D the labels were in a discusting condition ( coming off, torn, etc. ) , and I think I don't have to mention the grammar mistakes in the english labels - BUT at least there were english labels not like at the other "new" exhib. which was titeled 'the others' .
I liked 'the others ' very much, but I found the labels annoying as there were only numbers in front of the objects and the description was glued to the side of the vitrine. And as I said already there were no english labels at all. And the exhibition wasn't about 'the others' , only about showing diff. cultures...hmm, I think they couldn't achieve the concept what they wanted to do originally. But othervise it was really creative and interesting !
So it was a great lesson , I enjoyed it a lot, and learned lots of things !

Exhibition
I would like to comment on two classes :
the one is where we were discussing the different steps to how to create and set up an exhibition. I found it very interesting, and moreover it was really helpful and practical so Im sure we'll all be able to use it in the future. I liked that we were kind of playing games, as it was much more fun like this than if we would have just studied about it...
the other lesson was the one last week, when we dealt with catalogues:
I found it interesting as well , because we need to know what we sould put into it, and how it should look, etc, so that part was really useful,
however I think we were dealing with it for a bit too long, as at the end of the class I felt like that we were just discussing the same things over and over again...
I am really looking forvard to visit the galleries , etc, as I know that we'll hear very useful things, and Im happy that Rita is giving us really practical advices about the whole topic. It's so much better than to just learn about things in theory!

today's class was really interesting about the influences what Mtv is making on the society...It was interesting to think about all the issues...
Although I still don't agree with Elinor about that this series which I mentioned the " True Life " doesn't fit into the whole Mtv image, and I have no idea why actually they are showing it....Elinor said that It's because 'weird things' or scandals are always interesting, but on the other hand I am sure that an average parent wouldn't want that their child sees these episodes ! So these are actually not the typical stereotypes of those scandal-reality shows / series. I really have no idea why they are showing these. Because they are dealing with serious issues, just like this young girl who I mentioned who's doing stripping for an unknown guy who is paying her appartment so that she can go to university... and there was an other story about religions, where they were showing the "life" of two couples. One of the couples had a jehova's whitness girl, and a christian guy, and the other couple was a jewish guy + christian girl... It was about the differences of religions and basically both couples had serious problems becouse of their different backgrounds. The show was not on the side of any of the religions ....
So whatever I just found it interesting that there's a show like that on Mtv...

well so far the last week's lesson for me wasn't so interesting about those live-performances and how to broadcast them as I already participated in some films, and even in live-broadcasting so I knew the background more or less....
My overall experience about the classes so far is that Im really happy to learn about music-videos and I really liked the classes , so Im quite excited about making some videoclips. Although it will be really hard, as it's much more diffucult to edit them to get in sync with the song...I hope we will get the new editing programs because as Phil said we are getting 'real ' , and with Nero it wasn't 'real' at all, moreover the 90% of the class edited the stuff at home with other better programs, and the ones ( like me) who didn't have that possibility were in a much worse situation...
so that's all so far...
